This week, we saluted the thousands who supported the community at UJA Federation of Greater Toronto’s Walk with Israel, and we continued our series of webinars to help participants become effective online advocates.

CIJA

For months, CIJA and Federation CJA have been sounding the alarm about the rise of antisemitism in Montreal and the need for concrete action.

It's time for Mayor Valérie Plante to act to restore peace and security to Montreal. Many Montrealers, from all walks of life, are calling for an end to illegal encampments and an end to antisemitism and hate speech supported by radical groups bent on destroying the values that make Montreal a “metropolis of peace.”

ACT NOW

On June 9, an estimated 50,000 people joined UJA Federation of Greater Toronto’s Walk with Israel, setting an attendance record for the annual event. Participants walked a five-kilometre stretch of Bathurst Street between Lawrence Avenue and the Prosserman JCC. $1.2M was raised and will fund rebuilding in Israel after the October 7 Hamas attacks. We join UJA in thanking Toronto Police Service and security and police forces from outside Toronto, including Hamilton, Niagara, York, Durham, and the OPP, for their presence throughout the day.

Join us Tuesday, June 18 at 12:30 p.m. ET, for the third of a four-part webinar series, Introduction to Digital Advocacy, designed to equip participants with the skills and resources to identify, monitor, and report antisemitic, anti-Israel, and violent content, and to identify misinformation, disinformation, and fake news across leading social media platforms.

We will learn what to do when hate pops up on our feeds. FOA founder and president Tomer Aldubi will guide us through FOA’s Reporting AI system and show us how this Israeli non-profit is using open-source intelligence to counter cyberhate on social media. Social media influencer Tomer Carmeli will reveal the top 10 best practices to create social media posts that perform.
