The Jewish Federation of Greater Vancouver and the Centre for Israel and Jewish Affairs (CIJA) are pushing Vancouver City Council to pass a motion from Councillor Sarah Kirby-Yung to adopt the International Holocaust Remembrance Association’s (IHRA) definition of antisemitism.

This would mark the culmination of years of advocacy by Vancouver’s organized Jewish community representatives, including the Jewish Federation of Greater Vancouver and CIJA. The decision to ratify the IHRA definition would follow examples set by the federal government and more than half the provinces across Canada. Importantly, its adoption would signal that Vancouver City Council recognizes the struggles faced by the Jewish community and that it stands in solidarity against Jew-hatred and all forms of hate.

Please tell Mayor Sim and Vancouver City Council that antisemitism has no place here, or anywhere and adopt IHRA.
