Winnipeg | Global Holocaust Memory and Museums
This talk explores the way global Holocaust memory exists in and is shaped by constant dialogue between not always closely or coherently aligned local, national, and transnational factors. In museums, this dialogue and sometimes also tensions find expression in a diversity of ways of presenting or incorporating material evidence, survivor narratives and trauma, understandings of perpetration and collaboration, pedagogy, and moral imperatives such as “never again.”
