Prior to October 7, 2023, Metro Vancouver Jewish institutions spent less than $10,000 per month on security. Today they spend more than $200,000 per month, diverting resources from desperately needed community services.
According to a Jewish Federation of British Columbia Survey, nearly two-thirds of community members reported experiencing “at least one antisemitic incident”.
According to Statistics Canada, one-in-six Jewish children live in poverty. Since October 7, 2023, 61 percent of community members reported struggling with mental health.
