We FACE our challenges together! (Montreal)

L'Annexe: the Ometz Centre for Young Adults along with local artist Sheila Levine invite young adults to a unique creative session in preparation for Jewish Disability Awareness, Acceptance, and Inclusion Month (JDAIM*).

At this workshop, participants will have the opportunity to create their own individual work of art to be displayed first in the "From Strength to Strength" art exhibition taking place in February in honour of JDAIM and then later in the spring as part of a broader collaborative community display.

Starting from a blank face template based on one of Sheila's pieces, participants will be able to select from multiple artistic mediums to fill it in, expressing their perspectives on / experiences with disability**, mental illness, personal struggle, resilience, identity, and related themes.

L'Annexe will be providing all needed supplies at this FREE workshop - all that participants need to do is to register & then join us!

Sheila Nemtin Levine is a self-taught artist from Montreal who has experimented in different mediums over the past 25 years. She has combined her artistic talents and strong Jewish identity to create Tablet Tableaux, a modern take on an ancient theme - the Torah. Through Tablet Tableaux, Sheila has been able to spark wide-ranging audiences to share her passion for the artistry and morality of the guiding light of the Jewish people.

*JDAIM is an initiative to unite Jewish communities worldwide in championing the rights of all Jews to be full participants in Jewish community life. The "From Strength to Strength" art exhibition in honor of JDAIM will feature works by a diversity of artists - those who identify as living with a disability, mental illness, or neurological difference as well as those who do not.

**This workshop is open to ALL young adults aged 16 to 35, whether or not they identify as living with a disability, mental illness, or neurological difference.
