Toronto: Neuberger HEW 2025 | Kristallnacht Commemoration: The Songs Remain

Join the Toronto Holocaust Museum at the Kiever Shul for a powerful musical tribute for the annual Kristallnacht commemoration.

Experience The Songs Remain (הבוחר בשריים זמרה) —a moving concert arranged by composer and music director Charles Heller that honours the rich spiritual and cultural heritage of Jewish communities devastated by the Holocaust.

This evocative program explores how music, memory, and meaning preserve the creativity of once-vibrant communities, ensuring their legacy endures to inspire future generations. The concert spans a millennium of Jewish devotional music, featuring Hasidic melodies from Poland and Hungary, alongside synagogue music from Germany.

The afternoon also includes a candle-lighting ceremony marking the 87th anniversary of Kristallnacht, led by Holocaust survivor Pinchas Gutter. Join us in this historic synagogue in the heart of Toronto as we remember the night when synagogues were destroyed and communities shattered across German-occupied lands.

Come together to honour memory, resilience, and the enduring power of music.

Please be advised that there is limited parking in the area of the Kiever Shul and the venue is not accessible.
