Toronto: Film Screening - The World Will Tremble

Film Screening: The World Will Tremble

From acclaimed director Lior Geller, The World Will Tremble tells the harrowing, untold true story of a group of World War II Polish Jewish prisoners attempting the unthinkable. Held captive as gravediggers burying their own, Solomon Wiener (Oliver Jackson-Cohen) and Michael Podchlebnik (Jeremy Neumark Jones) decide to launch a daring escape from Chelmo, the first Nazi death camp, to provide the world’s first eyewitness account of the Holocaust. Taking place in real-time, The World Will Tremble serves as a cautionary reminder, emphasizing the significance of hope, survival, and the critical role of bearing witness. This in-person screening will be followed by a live Zoom Q&A with the director.
Generously co-sponsored by the Consulate General of the Federal Republic of Germany, Toronto.
Promotional partner: The Toronto Jewish Film Foundation.
