The horrifying, ISIS-inspired New Year’s attack in New Orleans is a painful reminder of the dangers of extremism and radicalization. It’s also a stark warning to Canadian leaders of the need to take decisive action to protect Canadians.
In recent months, at least three made-in-Canada terror plots have been directly linked to ISIS. This included alleged plans to bomb a pro-Israel rally in Ottawa, attack a Jewish centre in New York City, and conduct a massacre in the Greater Toronto Area.
Canadians cannot afford another close call, let alone an atrocity in our own country. It’s long past time for the Government of Canada to take real action against those who are fanning the flames of terrorism.
