Our Community Priorities

Although Canada’s Jewish community accounts for less than one percent of the country’s population, attacks against Jews account for one of every five hate crimes.

This is true for Ontario, which is home to nearly 60 percent of Canada’s Jewish population, where antisemitic attacks have spiked across the province since Hamas’ massacre on October 7, 2023.

With a provincial election set for February 27, 2025, CIJA will be coordinating with the Jewish community and allies to encourage candidates to work toward a future where all Ontarians – regardless of their religion or background – can live safely and freely – and thrive.

This election guide is organized on three pillars with concrete policy recommendations and questions for community members to ask candidates from all parties.
