The Jewish Federation of Ottawa is seeking a professional to support the organizational growth by driving forward the mission and vision of Federation through outreach and engagement with young adults (ages 21-40) and families raising Jewish children.
Reporting to the Vice President Impact, Partnership and Allocations, the Manager, Young Adult & Family Programs is responsible for creating and delivering innovative programs with a primary focus on outreach, relationship building, project and event management, and supporting our vital fundraising efforts.
The Manager, Young Adult & Family Programs provides opportunities to build Jewish identity through social gatherings, events, and programs to help families and young adults connect with their Jewish heritage and create meaningful traditions.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and implement engaging Young Adult and PJ Library programs throughout the year, collaborating with local Jewish community partners.
- Serve as the relationship manager for these demographics, developing personal connections through one-on-one interactions
- Create and post content on social media for Young Adults & PJ Library families.
- Serve as the primary liaison with the Harold Grinspoon Foundation; track, report on and maintain PJ Library database.
- Serve as an active member of Federation’s Development team by supporting the Young Adults Annual Campaign through relationship building and solicitation.
- Identify, steward and solicit prospective donors for the PJ Library Annual Campaign.
Skills, Qualifications and Mindset
- Significant knowledge of Jewish culture and community.
- Commitment and belief in the mission and vision of Federation to advance and promote and exceptional quality of Jewish life in Ottawa.
- Experience working with young adults, cultivating trust with donors, and fostering connections within the community.
- Extremely organized, detail-oriented individual, capable of self-managing and multitasking in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Project management experience required, particularly with multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to work evenings and weekends (excluding Shabbat and holidays) as needed.
- Capability to cultivate volunteers and foster connections within the community.
- Familiar with digital marketing strategies including social, email, search and programmatic.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Canva
- Experience with project management software/systems
- Proficient in Excel
- Familiarity with Ottawa’s Jewish community is a plus.
Salary & Benefits
- Pay band $60,000-$65,000
