Job Summary

As a Job Coach , you will work directly with individuals, support vocational and social skills development; identify and adapt tasks according to needs; provide ongoing coaching to employees and customer teams; support successful integration, retention and wellbeing

Duties and Responsibilities

• Task analysis and Job Carving: Working with the Program Manager and Production Manager, to assess customer worksites and perform task analysis by breaking down complex job descriptions into manageable tasks to create roles suitable for employees with disabilities.

• Skills assessment, recruitment and training: Interview and recruit individuals from within our workforce who have, or can learn, the skills necessary to be a strong match for the customer's needs. Facilitate and support the training and professional development of successful candidates to ensure they are fully equipped to thrive in their roles and deliver exceptional value to our clients.

• Onsite Coaching and Task Adaptation: Provide one-on-one or small group coaching to JEM employees placed at customer locations. Identify necessary adaptations or accommodations to match worker skill level while maintaining productivity standards.

• Inclusion Training: Work with customer teams to sensitize and support the successful integration of colleagues with disabilities.

• Communication, Documentation and Evaluation: Act as a liaison between workers, supervisors, and program manager, providing regular updates and feedback on performance, progress, and challenges. Maintain records of coaching sessions, and support employee and program evaluations.

• Team Collaboration: Work in a multidisciplinary team to support program design and ensure the overall success of the program.
Education, Knowledge and Skills

• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience working with individuals with disabilities, preferably in a job coaching or supportive role. A degree or certification in Special Care Counselling, Vocational Rehabilitation, Special Education, or a related field is preferred.

Skills:

o Ability to provide clear, step-by-step instructions
o Patience and empathy for individuals with varying abilities
o Ability to respond to different situations at external locations, effectively managing priorities.
o Energetic, collaborative and team-oriented
o Knowledge of factory safety protocols is an asset

Other Requirements:

o Must be able to provide physical assistance when needed.
o A driver’s license and access to a car for site visits.
