According to the 2017 Canadian Survey on Disability by Statistics Canada, more than six million Canadians, or 22% of the population, identify as living with a disability.
Jewish Disability Advocacy Day 2023
CIJA is committed to supporting all members of the Jewish disability community as we work together to build a more accessible, prosperous Canada.
This year, we are organizing a Jewish Disability Advocacy Day (JDAD) when Canadian Jewish leaders will meet with elected officials to discuss how we can build on our successes today and continue to advocate for issues of concern to Jewish Canadians living with disabilities.
CIJA will host a day of community advocacy:
On March 9, 2023 CIJA will hold a day of community advocacy with MPs, community members, advocates, and representatives from local service agencies that serve clients with disabilities. We will highlight CIJA’s advocacy priorities, including:
