Honouring the memory of Sheila Goldbloom
Montreal, QC – July 8, 2022 – In honour of the life and work of Montreal Sheila Goldbloom, the Centre for Israel and Jewish Affairs (CIJA) issued the following statements:
“Sheila was a doer, she stepped up and engaged in so many meaningful ways to contribute the world around her,” said CIJA Quebec Vice President Eta Yudin. “A social worker at heart she was a force for social justice, a woman ahead of her generation she was a model for civic engagement and the power of the individual. I have fond memories of time spent with her.
“My deepest condolences to Jonathan, Michael, and Suzie and the entire Goldbloom family. She will be missed by many, and she will certainly not be forgotten.”
“We extend our deepest sympathies to a cherished friend and leader in our community, Jonathan Goldbloom, who has inherited the inspirational attributes of both his parents to the benefit of the Jewish community, Quebec society, and indeed, all of Canada,” said CIJA President and CEO Shimon Koffler Fogel.
