Halifax: The Last Stand

The Last Stand
(2026, Israel, Hebrew with English subtitles)

About the Film
The Last Stand revisits one of the defining and harrowing moments of October 7, when dozens of Hamas terrorists stormed the Sderot police station and a small group of officers stood between them and further devastation. Through first-hand testimonies, raw video footage and communication recordings, the film reconstructs the intense, day-long battle that ultimately ended with the decision to destroy the station rather than allow it to remain in enemy hands.

The station itself was destroyed the following day. To bring this vanished place back to life, the filmmakers created a detailed, dollhouse-scale replica around which surviving officers recount their experiences of courage, loss and resilience. Their deeply personal stories offer a human perspective on the events of that day and the extraordinary choices faced by those who found themselves on the front lines.

Directed by Eyal Blachsan, who began his creative career in 2003 and has since directed, written, and produced numerous documentary, fiction, and current affairs projects for television and cinema, earning awards and critical acclaim.
