Edmonton: Messages of Hope
Join the Oshry | Kipnes Jewish Community Centre and Jewish Federation of Edmonton for Messages of Hope, a community gathering marking October 7 through remembrance, reflection, connection, and hope for the future.
Community members of all ages are invited to create messages of hope that will be delivered to children in Be'eri, Kiryat Shmona, and Kfar Aza during the Federation's upcoming mission to Israel. Participants will also have an opportunity to contribute to a collective message book for President Isaac Herzog.
The evening will feature a fireside conversation with Edmonton's new Shinshinim, Ofri and Alma, and Alon Dotan, director of The Jewish Agency for IsraelI's Global Shinshinim Program. Led by Partnership2Gether Co-Chair Noga Vaisblat, the discussion will explore what it has meant to grow up in Israel over the past three years and what gives young Israelis hope for the future.
Additional opportunities for reflection will include memorial candle lighting and a moment of silence. Children are welcome, with supervised activities available during the fireside conversation.
