At protests at Bathurst and Sheppard, extremists openly made threats of violence, glorified terrorism, and depicted Jews as sub-human.

DEMAND ACTION

No arrests for the heinous acts above have been announced. In the wake of multiple violent attacks on our community, this leaves many concluding that police are protecting criminals instead of safeguarding citizens.

If imagery portraying Jews as vermin and celebrating the elimination of the Jewish state does not meet the threshold for enforcement under Canada’s laws that criminalize incitement of hate, what does?

For far too long, extremists have been allowed to spew antisemitic vitriol and support for terrorism throughout our city. The line has been crossed repeatedly.

In a hearing on March 14, 2026, Ontario Superior Court Justice Robert Centa stated that the public safety ultimately depends upon the enforcement of existing criminal laws.

As synagogues are shattered by gunfire and extremists march through our neighbourhoods, it's clear that the status quo is not only unacceptable – it’s a threat to innocent life in our city.

Laws against hate, violence, and terrorism exist for a reason and they must be enforced.

Toronto Police Must Do Better.
