CHES: Holocaust Education Month Launch Event (Ottawa)

Women’s Underground Resistance at Auschwitz

Suggested minimum donation per ticket is $36

The Centre for Holocaust Education and Scholarship is proud to host the opening event for Holocaust Education Month 2024 on November 7th at 7:00 pm with the screening of the film, Sabotage. Sabotage is based on the diary of Holocaust survivor Anna Wajcblum Heilman, who was later part of the Ottawa community. Her diary is now featured in the collection at Library and Archives Canada and will be available for viewing at the event.

The launch event coincides with the annual commemoration of Kristallnacht, the Night of Broken Glass, the violent turning point in state-sponsored attacks on the Jews of Germany, Austria, and Czechoslovakia. Guest speaker at the screening will be Noa Aharoni, the award-winning Israeli filmmaker who wrote and directed Sabotage.
