The tragic fire at Canadian Forces Base Wainwright injured dozens and claimed the lives of four service members: Sergeant Morgan Wong, Private Shaun Farrell, Private Hayden Lykkemark, and Private Aidan Goulding -- a beloved member of our Jewish community.

Jewish federations across Canada and the Centre for Israel and Jewish Affairs (CIJA) encourage community members to make a Canadian Jewish statement in support of affected military families by donating to Jewish Federations of Canada – UIA’s Canadian Forces Base Wainwright Emergency Fund. We will grant all funds raised to Together We Stand Foundation, a Canadian charity dedicated to helping those who stand behind our men and women in uniform.
Founded by Rick and Lillian Ekstein, children of Holocaust survivors who found refuge and a new beginning in Canada, the Foundation reflects their deep gratitude to the country that gave their families safety, freedom, and opportunity.
