A Shield Against Hate: Holocaust Education for the New Era (Ottawa)

As we observe Holocaust Education Month this November,

the Jewish Federation of Ottawa’s Shoah Committee invites you to join us for

A Shield Against Hate: Holocaust Education for the New Era.

Tuesday, November 26, 2024 @ 7 pm

Ben Franklin Place Atrium, 101 Centrepointe Dr.

This event will feature the Yad Vashem exhibit Stars Without a Heaven, which tells the story of children in the Holocaust. We are honoured to have Dr. Agnes Klein, a child survivor, share her personal story and reflections.

Dr. Klein, who spent part of the Second World War as a hidden child, has devoted herself to sharing the legacy of the Holocaust. Her testimony is a powerful reminder that the atrocities of the Holocaust were fuelled by the dehumanization of “the other,” a lesson we must continue to remember in today’s world.

This evening is intended for dignitaries, public leaders, and academics. We hope you will join us in reflecting on the lessons of the Holocaust and our responsibility to educate future generations. We look forward to welcoming you to this important event.

This is a free event, but registration is required.
