Antisemitism is on the rise in Canada and around the world as are instances of Holocaust denial and distortions of the Jewish experience. This surge is exacerbated by an increasingly polarized political climate, rising extremism, and a lack of Holocaust education.

On March 29, we hosted a discussion regarding the Criminalization of Holocaust Denial as a potential solution to rising antisemitism and Holocaust distortion. Panellists Michal Cotler-Wunsh, Head of the Nefesh B’Nefesh Institute; Sacha Ghozlan, Legal Expert; and Dr. Carson Phillips, Managing Director of the Neuberger and adjunct faculty at Gratz College, shared their perspectives on the pros and cons of criminalizing Holocaust Denial.

This event was presented by CIJA in partnership with Jewish Federations across Canada.
