Melissa Lantsman is the Member of Parliament for Thornhill and Deputy Leader of the Conservative Party. She was elected during the 2021 Canadian federal election and was born and raised in her riding of Thornhill. She previously held the role of shadow minister of transport, appointed during her first term as Member of Parliament.

She is the first Jewish woman elected to the Conservative party and is proud to be a strong voice against antisemitism and hate, both in our communities here in Canada and abroad.

Before being elected to office, Melissa was one of Canada’s most sought-after public affairs executives. Melissa has led high-stakes campaigns and provided strategic advice, media-training, debate prep and speech coaching to political leaders and senior executives across Canada.

Melissa has been a well-known commentator in Canada on political strategy and communications and has appeared regularly on TV. She is a graduate of the University of Toronto, an avid Blue Jays fan, and fluent in three languages. She has served on the boards of Michael Garron Hospital, the Hot Docs Film Festival, the Canadian Jewish Political Affairs Committee and Jewish Addiction Community.
