Canada silent at Hezbollah fires on Israel (Toronto Star)
The deadly Hamas attack on Oct. 7, which claimed the lives of 1,200 Israelis, and Israel's campaign to eradicate the terrorist group in Gaza to prevent recurrence of such a massacre, is dominating headlines worldwide. The conflict is still mainly contained between Hamas and Israel, but the risks of a regional conflagration are serious.
What is especially distressing, however, is the complete absence of action undertaken by Canada and its minister of foreign affairs, Mélanie Joly. Despite Hezbollah's murderous provocations and numerous attacks on Israel — including from a Lebanese mosque on an Israeli church — Joly has yet to condemn Hezbollah's dangerous game.
