CIJA Tweet on Netherlands cutting funding to UAWC

This week, CIJA called on the Canadian government to cut funding to the Union of Agricultural Work Committees (UAWC) due to its ties to the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) – designated under Canadian law as a terrorist entity. Canada provides millions of tax-payer dollars to the UAWC via a project run by the United Nation’s Food and Agriculture Organization.

In October 2021, the Israel Ministry of Defense declared UAWC to be a terrorist organization due to its links to the PFLP. Similarly, this week, the Dutch government announced it would be ceasing its international aid to the UAWC based on its own investigation that found numerous individual and organizational ties to the terror group.

For more information on Canadian government funding to UAWC, see this NGO Monitor Report.
