“Yet again, Jewish students face a hostile environment on campus that threatens their right to express themselves peacefully,” CIJA wrote in a statement. “Allowing this to become the status quo threatens our values of free speech, equal access to education and intellectual freedom. Universities have a duty a protect students from hate. Gathering to commemorate hostages taken by a designated terrorist-entity is a reasonable and widely supported action. The continuous failure of universities to uphold their fundamental responsibilities to student safety is unacceptable.
