Press Release: Statement on Nova Scotia PC Leader Jamie Baillie

Halifax, NS – Today, Jamie Baillie announced that he is stepping down from his position as Leader of the Progressive Conservative Party of Nova Scotia. 

In response, Naomi Rosenfeld, Executive Director of the Atlantic Jewish Council stated:

“We commend Mr. Baillie for his years of service to the people of Nova Scotia and for his ongoing work as an MLA. The Jewish community is grateful for the support shown by Mr. Baillie on a range of important issues. We thank him and wish him every success as he enters this new chapter in his professional life.”

Marilyn Kaufman, Atlantic Local Partner Chair of the Centre for Israel and Jewish Affairs (CIJA), added:

“Public service requires significant personal sacrifice. We thank Mr. Baillie for his service and for the warm friendship he has shown the local Jewish community. Indeed, members of our community have fond memories of Mr. Baillie joining CIJA on a fact-finding mission to Israel in 2014. We look forward to continuing to engage with him in the months and years ahead.”
