Pass the Canada Disability Benefit
Provincial disability benefits have not kept pace with inflation, and Jewish social service agencies have reported that their clients and in general Canadians living with disabilities are not receiving necessary levels of support.
A federal disability benefit is needed to top-up provincial disability support programs.
Recommendation
- Introduce and pass the Canada Disability Benefit, ensuring that there are no claw-backs of provincial benefits.
Bill C-22, the Canada Disability Benefit, received Royal Assent on June 22, 2023.
