The Centre for Israel and Jewish Affairs has said Dattani should not assume his new role given the fact the Jewish community is dealing with a sharp rise in antisemitism and deserves to have confidence in the Canadian Human Rights Commission, which is potentially being granted new powers under the government’s online harms legislation to probe complaints of online hate speech.
