Ottawa, ON – February 28, 2026 – Targeted strikes in Iran come amid the Islamic Regime’s ongoing repression of its own people and its continued role as a driver of terrorism and instability far beyond its borders – including here in Canada. In response, Noah Shack, CEO, Centre for Israel and Jewish Affairs, provided the following statement:

“At this critical moment, our thoughts are with all those threatened by the Islamic Regime, whether in Israel, Iran, or here in Canada.

“Agents of the Islamic Regime have murdered and brutally repressed tens of thousands of people in Iran. Its missiles and suicide drones terrorize Ukrainians and Israelis. All against the backdrop of a relentless pursuit of nuclear weapons.

“Here in Canada, Iran is designated as a state supporter of terrorism for good reason: it threatens Iranian Canadians, plots assassinations against Canadian leaders, and fuels violent extremism in our communities.

“We urge the Government of Canada to continue its support for both military action against the Islamic Regime and Israel’s right to defend itself and protect its people.

“Iran’s domestic repression, international terrorism, and nuclear weapons program must end, and Canadians must be protected from the Regime’s violent threats.”
