CIJA | Pacific Region meets with MP Nathan Cullen

CIJA | Pacific Region and its lay leaders were honoured to host the Official Opposition House Leader, MP Nathan Cullen last Sunday to discuss the important issues facing British Columbia’s Jewish communities and the value of Canada’s relationship with Israel.

Despite never having been to Israel, and having few Jewish families in his constituency (Skeena-Bulkley Valley) Mr. Cullen understood the importance of a close Canada-Israel relationship.

Issues discussed with the Official Opposition House Leader ranged from support for Israel’s quest for peace and Iran, to support for social housing and seniors’ care. CIJA |Pacific Region’s lay leadership took the opportunity of this meeting to thank the NDP and specifically its Leader, Hon. Thomas Mulcair for their support of the Canada-Israel relationship and commitment to ensuring that Iran does not develop a nuclear weapons capability.

CIJA | Pacific Region looks forward to continuing its dialogue with Mr. Cullen and the BC caucus of the NDP, as it does with all political parties in the province.
