Manager, GTA Stakeholder Relations 

Reports to: VP, Toronto 

The Centre for Israel and Jewish Affairs (CIJA) is a non-partisan, non-profit organization dedicated to improving the quality of Jewish life in Canada through advocacy.  

CIJA connects the power of a strong, national network to regional efforts in every Canadian province. Our team provides advocacy support to Jewish and pro-Israel communities across the country, including on university campuses.  

Job Description 

The Manager, GTA Stakeholder Relations position is a Toronto-based position reporting to the VP, GTA., and is an integral member of the GTA Team, with lead responsibility for ensuring that CIJA’s activities engage the local Jewish community, are responsive to their needs, and are understood and appreciated. 

The ideal candidate will be a confident, experienced individual with excellent judgment, flexibility, a capacity to quickly master new tasks, and the ability to work both independently and in a team. An organized team player with exceptional people skills and an ability to create meaningful opportunities for citizens to engage in the advocacy process, you have excellent communications ability, a strong knowledge of the Jewish community, familiarity with the communities public policy agenda, and a willingness to learn.  

Key Areas of Responsibility 
  • Anticipating and responding to issues that might arise in the community and preparing for their effective management 
  • Development and implementation of a plan for reaching our and engaging Jewish organizations and groups in the GTA to inform and include them in CIJA’s work  
  • Overseeing and implementing community engagement events in the GTA   
  • Liaising with Jewish service agencies and assisting with their government relations needs  
  • Engaging Jewish community stakeholders in CIJA’s advocacy activities in the GTA  
  • Other duties as required

Additional 
  • This is a full-time, Monday-Friday position 
  • Location – Toronto (Lipa Green Campus) 
  • Knowledge of the public policy formation process is a strong asset.
