Building Bridges with the Roman Catholic Community

On May 2nd, 2018, CIJA | Pacific Region and the Roman Catholic Archdioceses of Vancouver  co-hosted a “Building Bridges” gathering, matchmaking the experience and skillset of leaders from the Roman Catholic and Jewish communities respectively, in areas ranging from social services to palliative care to youth engagement to community relations to administrative management to religious leadership to education and more. The group exchanged greetings, shared blessings, broke bread, and explored issues of common interest the luncheon, which commenced at the Jewish Community Centre of Greater Vancouver and concluded at the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Vancouver.

Participating organizations included: Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Vancouver, Providence Health Care, Catholic Independent Schools of Vancouver, St. Peter’s Parish, Newman Association of Vancouver, Centre for Israel and Jewish Affairs, Jewish Federation of Greater Vancouver, National Canadian Rabbinic Caucus, Jewish Community Centre of Vancouver, Jewish Family Services, Louis Brier, AXIS and King David High School.
