Israel & Palestinians to Co-Host World Cup in 2018?

Guardian (UK) writer James Montague blogs about an attempt to bring the World Cup to Israel and the Palestinian territories: “The bid is the brainchild of the Israeli filmmaker Eytan Heller and the international NGO OneVoice. ‘The original idea came in 2006 during the World Cup when I travelled to Ramallah,” Heller said. “I was amazed to see the flags of all the European teams on the roofs of the city and seeing the same thing in Tel Aviv in my neighbourhood, it seemed like a continuity of fraternity, so I wanted to launch a campaign to launch the candidacy.’”

The video below from OneVoice is billed as “a vision for what could happen if Israel and Palestine reach a two state agreement.”
