CTV Newsnet Interviews Moshe Ronen, CIC Chair, on Israeli Elections

Moshe Ronen on CTV NewsnetMoshe Ronen, Chair of the Canada-Israel Committee, was interviewed last night by CTV Newsnet as part of its extensive coverage of the upcoming Israeli elections.

Ronen told anchor Marcia MacMillan that an election can mean a fresh start for peace talks.  With a new government, “the desire of Israel for peace won’t change,” said Ronen, and it might indeed reinvigorate the peace process.

“I think what’s more important is that there will be a partner for peace
on the other side,” said Ronen. “The Palestinians have to work out
their differences and come as a solid block to negotiate a real peace.
I think that’s much more critical than this temporary act of democracy.”
