In his weekly Canadian Jewish News media analysis column “According to Reports,†Paul Michaels, CIC Director of Communications,  says that investigative reporting by Patrick Martin in the  Globe and Mail exposed at least one false charge against the IDF.
Writes Michaels: “Patrick Martin’s Jan. 29 Globe and Mail report, ‘Account of Israeli attack doesn’t hold up to scrutiny,’ has attracted a lot of attention because it reveals what journalism does at its best when it investigates and establishes the truth.
“Martin wrote: ‘Most people remember the headlines: Massacre Of Innocents As UN School Is Shelled; Israeli Strike Kills Dozens At UN School.” But “[t]here was just one problem: The story, as etched in people’s minds, was not quite accurate.’”
