Dances with Hamas

The latest edition of the Jersualem Center for Public Affairs’ “Jerusalem Issue Brief” is The Diplomatic Dance with Hamas by Efraim Karsh. It skewers the efforts of former president Jimmy Carter and others to bring Hamas into peace talks. The problem is that Hamas does not want to compromise, and advocating on its behalf serves only to legitimize its goals.

Writes Karsh: “While the hope that Hamas could somehow be lured away from its genocidal agenda seems to be gaining wider currency, not only is the destruction of Israel not a bargaining chip, it is the heart of the matter.”
