Israel Votes 2009: Campaigns Inspired by Obama

With election day set for Feb. 10, the Israeli elections campaigns are starting to get into gear.  The CIC will be blogging about the election, and regularly updating our Website coverage.

Perhaps not surprisingly, Israeli PM hopefuls are taking a cue from Barack Obama’s successful  US presidential campaign. According to the JTA, “Bibi Netanyahu [is] borrowing the format of Barack Obama’s Web site and Shas ripping off the president-elect’s ‘Yes, We Can’ slogan.”

Then there’s the video below, in which a Livni Boy – actor Liran Avisar -  sings his candidates’ praises in a production inspired by the wildly popular Obama Girl video.
