Director Samuel Maoz with the Golden Lion Best Film Award for 'Lebanon.'

The Israeli film “Lebanon” won the Golden Lion, the top prize, at the 2009 Venice Film Festival. The film is currently being shown at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF). Reacting to protests against Israeli films at TIFF, director Samuel Maoz told the Toronto Star: “The reality in Israel is very complex.
