IMRA (Independent Media Review Analysis)  has translated information from Almagor, an Israeli organization that advocates for terror victims’ rights, about the Palestinian prisoners set for release by Israel on Aug. 25.

Of the approximately 200 prisoners:

  • 149 were sentenced for attempting to murder – most by
shooting at people and/or planting bombs.
  • 54 served less than half their sentences.
  • 63 have only been in jail since 2007, including
seven who have been in prison less than a year.
  • The Israel Prison Service website has a full list (in Hebrew) of the prisoners to be released.
