Ottawa, ON – Shimon Fogel, CEO of the Centre for Israel and Jewish Affairs, released the following statement today:

“We share Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s outrage over the burning of a mosque yesterday in northern Israel. This hateful incident not only targets an entire community of Israelis, it violates Israel’s core values of human rights and respect for all faiths.

We note that Israeli police have arrested several suspects in connection with this abhorrent incident, and we are confident that the perpetrators of this attack will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law. Like Canada, Israel is a democracy governed by the rule of law, and this terrible event will reaffirm Israel’s commitment to protecting the rights of minorities.”

DÉCLARATION SUR L’ATTAQUE CONTRE UNE MOSQUE ISRAÉLIENNE

Ottawa – Shimon Fogel, PDG du Centre consultatif des relations juives et israéliennes a fait la déclaration suivante, aujourd’hui :

Nous partageons l’indignation du Premier ministre Benyamin Netanyahou   l’endroit de l’incendie criminel d’une mosque, hier, dans le nord d’Israél. Cet incident haineux ciblenon seulement toute une communaut d’Israéliens, mais il viole les valeurs fondamentales israéliennes de protection des droits humains et de respect envers toutes les fois.

« Nous notons que la police israélienne a arrplusieurs suspects en relation avec cet incident ignominieux et sommes confiants que les auteurs de cette attaque seront poursuivis avec toute la svrit de la loi. Comme le Canada, Israél est un tat démocratique de droit et ce terrible incident réaffirmera son engagement protéger les droits des minorités ».
